How-to: Baked brie

Baked brie is one of those things that looks overwhelming, tastes rich, and is super easy to do. Bring this to your next potluck and watch it disappear. (Pictured above with my focaccia)

Ingredients

  • one wheel of brie (your choice on size and quality, but cheaper brie works fine here)

  • toppings of choice, some good combos include:

    • red pepper, onions, garlic, thyme, and rosemary

    • fig jam, rosemary, pecans

    • honey & thyme (serve with grapes)

    • pineapple & pecans

    • peach & basil (why does this work so well!)

Instructions

  1. preheat oven to 350°F

  2. dice ingredients

  3. set the brie on a piece of parchment paper

  4. spread wet ingredients like jam or honey on the top of the brie and add the chopped ingredients so they wheel is covered

  5. transfer the brie wheel on the parchment into an oven safe dish. A cast iron pan works well if you have fitting lid. A casserole dish with a lid works and of course a brie baker is useful here.

  6. bake for 20 - 30 minutes until the brie is melted through. It will puff up and get jiggly.

  7. remove from pan, using the parchment paper and transfer to a dish to serve

  8. enjoy!
